Spring and Summer always yield some great scenes here in Charlottesville. The view from the house can be especially intriguing given the range of wildlife that makes the area its home. Beyond the creatures shown below, there’s a beaver here as well, but he’s pretty shy.

Our resident woodchuck. Literally, his home is underneath our deck. We should probably be doing something about that.

The crane makes an appearance once in a while. It’s always so graceful; we love watching him.

And this is Fred. Fred, I don’t think, realizes that the bird he’s looking at in the window is himself. He brought along a lady friend one day to watch, and she was, as far as we could tell, pretty unimpressed.

Every spring brings a bevy of new goslings to the area.

A little piece of heaven right outside our office window.

Warmly,
Bill
