July 2010

Happy Friday everyone! We can’t lie, we love this time of year as we have so  many lovely weddings to share with you – we can barely keep up with them! (We’re hoping Friday’s FAB Finds will make periodic appearances throughout the Summer and Fall, though, so keep checking back!)

DC-based couple Hillary & Jeremy chose the beautiful Veritas Vineyards for their early Summer wedding and the weather did not disappoint – lush greenery and vines, combined perfectly with a crisp, blue sky and while it was definitely warm, it wasn’t oppressive enough to keep everyone inside. To top it all off, H&J were the epitome of happiness – everything our cameras “touched” that day seemed to turn into gold thanks in large part to the absolute joy they, along with their family and friends, couldn’t help but radiate. Scroll down with delight and you can safely blame H&J, along with us, for that little, warm fuzzy you get on this TGIF. ;-D

Are you ready for everything? You can check out the entire wedding here. The password is Hillary’s maiden name. Enjoy!

The FAB team:

Coordinator: Barb Lundgren of Barb Wired
Venue: Veritas Vineyards
Officiant: Reverend Claire Goodman
Ceremony Musicians: Encore String Quartet + Hillary’s cousins, Larissa & Lucas
Baker: Teri Edwards of Cakes Unlimited
Floral Design: Hedge Fine Blooms
Reception Musicians: 10 Spot Band (through Sam Hill Entertainment)

Hillary’s mom couldn’t have been more delighted that day, shown here looking at her daughter’s reflection in the mirror.

Yup, she really is that gorgeous!

*LOVE*

We love this shot Bill captured of Jeremy waiting to walk out with his guys.

Our dear friend Claire Goodman thoughtfully officiated the ceremony.

Gotta love when the infrared camera comes out to play on bright, sunny days!

Their programs, printed as fans (complete with word games on the other side!), were a bit hit among the sun-soaked guests.

Sweet and thoughtful combination – short black dresses with soft pink hair rosettes. Definitely *love*.

Ok, so is this not the most gorgeous twilight sky ever?

Beautiful and yummy cake by Teri Edwards. The divine cake stand was a gift from Hillary’s Grandmother. (The bowl of raspberries is in her honor, too!)

Jeremy’s cousin’s husband sang a solo as their first dance song. We love it when our clients do something special and personal like this!

Get your groove on, Daddy-O!

Ok, I think we will.

Dear h&j,

We learned a long time ago that when it came to being excited about a wedding, it had little to do with the venue, or the details, or anything other than the raw emotion of the day. Our most personally rewarding weddings are those with couples (and families) who express the love they have for one another and just enjoy themselves throughout the day. The incredible summer heat wave that’s hit Virginia seems to have had no effect whatsoever on the two of you that day, smiling broadly throughout the day as if you were asking someone at any moment to pinch you, because you simply must be dreaming. Not only that, but you infused your celebration with so many sweet and personal touches from your family members serenading to using lace from your Mom’s wedding dress, Hillary to wrap around your bouquet – all of your guests could not have felt more special or loved.

You carried yourselves on such a relaxed air that it was impossible for anyone around you to stress about really anything at all and as a result your guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout the day and well into the evening. Your band could barely go home at the end of the night everyone was having such a great time and begging for more. We agreed, that it was over too soon. That’s a true sign of a great wedding – one nobody, including the vendors, don’t want to leave! We’re just thrilled to have been a part of your awesome celebration, h&j. Thank you so much and congratulations to you both!

Sooooo loving this way of doing the seating chart. The shabby chic, rustic window pane + the lovely elegance of Pretty Mail’s calligraphy = divine and unique detail! LOVE it, Pam!! :)

Bill’s totally digging this shot Anne got of their guests looking at the old window to find their tables.

We couldn’t have had a more picturesque evening.

Ice cream helps keep the summer heat away.

What a night it was! So much fun and everything was just GORGEOUS thanks in large part to such a fabulous dream team. We just LOVE working with all of you!

Thanks for joining us this afternoon and we hope you have a fantastic and fun weekend!!

PS – Friday’s FAB Finds will return periodically during the crazy busy wedding season! We can’t wait to share some great finds with you soon! xoxo…

Ok, so apparently we just can’t help ourselves when it comes to selecting images for your blog enjoyment. We have too many favorites! We’re splitting up the post for Caitlin and Adair into two, starting with cocktails with part two here. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy some of the sweet moments from the first part of their day. Gorgeous portraits and some lovely eye candy coming your way later today! Oh, and C&A, there’s a little note down below, just for you. :) (You can click on each picture to make it larger, too!)

And if you’re interested, please check out the complete set of wedding images from Caitlin & Adair’s celebration. The password is Caitlin’s maiden name. Enjoy!

We love this moment of their priest sitting by himself near the back of the church before the ceremony, contemplative while their guests begin filing in.

Dear c&a,

Rustic elegance. That’s what we think of when we think of the two of you and your wedding celebration. It was great seeing the personal touches you incorporated into your wedding, from your family church and hosting the event on your families horse farm, Adair, to the sweet and romantic touches you incorporated into cocktails and the dinner tent, Caitlin. The adorable burlap LOVE pillow completely summed up your celebration – soft, sweet and romantic. We were so happy for you when the brief rain shower passed and you were able to have your dancing outside, completely under the stars as intended. It truly lent an air of fun reverie for your friends, who readily got out on the dance floor and stayed there! The Virginia summer has been unusually warm this year, but that never stopped anyone from having a great time that night, with even a few members of your family and friends jumping into the pond at evening’s end for a quick cooling off. We were, admittedly, a little envious even, until Anne heard about the possibility of snakes in the pond that is! ;)

Although we had only gotten the chance to meet you the day before, you and your families welcomed us with open arms.Thank you so much for inviting us to document your beautiful celebration and we wish you nothing but the best in your years together to come.

xoxo,
…a&b
