We were super psyched to learn that one of our favorite wedding party images was recently chosen from over 1,00o entries to be included in Design Aglow’s new Modern Wedding Party Posing Guide! (Just try and say that three times fast!
) Design Aglow is a great resource for professional photographers, especially those just starting out in the business, and we’re honored to have been featured in the guide along with many of our incredibly talented peers. Their quarterly magazine is always stocked with fresh, inspiring imagery and fun, informative features – it’s one of our industry must reads.
The winning image was from Erin & Bryan’s fabulous Spring wedding at the gorgeous Veritas Vineyard & Winery. Erin & Bryan had a lovely, but large wedding party so it was fun coming up with different ways to “feature” their closest friends and using the architecture of their beautiful setting was a natural fit.

Congratulations, Erin & Bryan! Since we won, you win, too! A $25 gift card is yours for anything we offer that your heart desires.
With Joy,

Whoo-boy you guys are in for a treat today if you love stationary and papers as much as I do. I’ve been so excited to share Nikki & Josh’s invitation suite ever since we received it in the mail. Each and everyone of their guests had to have been super psyched just seeing the gorgeous calligraphy on the invite, let alone what was inside. Well, heck, I’ll just show ya!
Invitations We Love – Nikki & Josh

Notice anything especially interesting about them by any chance???

They’re printed on WOOD! Pure GORGEOUSNESS!! (That’s their welcome bag for their hotel guests in the background, btw! Always such a thoughtful touch.)

Of course, we had to take a few pics of them in their proper wedding environment. (You’ll see this lovely vintage screen door more in their full blog post – can’t wait to share more of their wedding soon – it held the escort cards, which of course were also part of the whole suite.)

They were designed by the incomparable Saima Khan Saima Says Design and perfectly captured the mood of their sweet, fun and flirty vintage inspired wedding to come! (She also addressed the gorgeous envelopes!)

Can I just say how much I *heart* turquoise blue and orange together?! Well, I guess I can since it’s my post. ;-D

We seriously can’t wait to share soooo much more of this incredible wedding with you, but we hope you enjoy this FAB amuse bouche! (Yeah, I might have a tad bit of Top Chef fever again!)
Happy Friday!!

Kathy & Martin contacted me for their intimate, family-only wedding down at The Homestead just a few days prior to their intimate ceremony, so it was a nice surprise to drive down to Warm Springs through picturesque Bath county on a perfect spring day. More, and a note to Kathy & Martin, at the bottom…
Their priest, perhaps one of the warmest people I’ve ever met, checks his watch just prior to the ceremony.

I love this series between the priest and Martin…

Kathy patiently waits outside for her cue.

Their dog was effusive in his love for everybody during the ceremony. How cool is is the church to allow a dog come to a wedding?!

Must…get…the…shot…

More people had cameras than not. It was a real kick.

Dear k&m,
While I’m able to document quite a few intimate weddings, it’s not every day I get to see one of the family dogs in the processional in a church! And the way you created a new memorial bouquet with the roses your family members gave you as you proceeded was a wonderfully nice touch. There’s a certain refreshing informality that usually comes with such intimate events, and I got a real kick out of your family’s desire to help cover all the photographic bases during the ceremony. Everything was just…relaxed, and fun. Gathering your family for cocktails overlooking the casino lawn was the perfect way to take in the resort’s beauty and set the stage for your dinner that evening. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and am grateful for the opportunity to spend a lovely afternoon with you. Congratulations to you both for a lifetime of love, laughter and light!
Warmly,
…b
