We’re delighted to congratulate Lauren and David, a pair of California-based physicians, who celebrated their marriage recently at Keswick Hall here in Charlottesville. Lauren grew up and attended school here, and it was wonderful for her to see some of her old friends again at the wedding, including one of ours, Sherri, part of the dynamic duo of Pat’s Floral Designs, who also did the lovely flowers for the event. They were such a relaxed couple, simply enjoying their wedding day as it unfolded. Their respective wedding parties toasted each of them with drinks of choice, champagne in the bridal suite and sips of scotch for the guys on the way to the church, and it was clear how tight these two were with the loved ones surrounding them on their wedding day. After a lovely (and brief!) service at Westminster Presbyterian near the University of Virginia grounds, we all returned to Keswick for some fun portraits with family and then the two of them in the gorgeous late-afternoon sun.
Their guests enjoyed the start of the reception with some incredibly heartfelt and humorous toasts by David’s best man and Lauren’s sister as well as Lauren’s dad’s welcome to everyone. We watched them hold hands the entire time, even eating dinner one-handed so they would have a free hand to connect with their new partner. After dinner everyone watched as they enjoyed every second of their first dance and then crowded around them for their cake cutting (I think they had heard that the cake by Hotcakes was especially good!) before really ripping it and dancing the night away with DJ Chris on the Side. There were so many photos we wanted to highlight here but ran out of room! If you’re family or friends, check out their online gallery for 100 of our favorite images from the day. Thank you so much, Lauren and David, for having us out to document your wedding! We were thrilled and honored to be a part of it!

The light in Lauren’s bridal suite was stunning and Anne made some wonderful images of the stunning bride.

Gotta love limos with funky lighting…

Lauren certainly didn’t need the reminder on the wall. She was a wonderfully calm and thoughtful bride.

These gentlemen arrived just a little too late for the ceremony. I love that Anne caught this moment of them!

Any UVa student will recognize Beta Bridge. How did these artists know? I love this shot that Bill took! He has such a great eye!

I think these two heard of a secret playground somewhere outside…

And of course, some beautiful eye candy for your viewing pleasure…

Last up in our short series of baby portraits this spring (oh don’t worry, we have another coming up in a couple of weeks) is from lovely Lacey & Evan, who married in the summer of 2005 at Evan’s alma mater, St. Albans School in DC. Their little one Harrison was just a bundle of happiness one recent afternoon at their Bethesda home. His dad had come home to share his lunch hour with the three of them, and he was all about having fun, first with his normal toys and then one of his favorite toys, the TV remote (look Ma, pretty buttons!) He was a delight, I enjoyed seeing Lacey & Evan again and catching up, and look forward to doing so again soon.

This is the largest stuffed animal I’ve ever seen! I think the cats enjoy it more though. I mean, look at those furry paws, and how nice it would be to curl up between them if you’re a cat. Not a bad life, really.

We’re happy to celebrate Emily & Rob’s one year anniversary today! They were married at the gorgeous Dahlgren Chapel at Georgetown University and headed off to the International Trade Center with family and friends to party the rest of the night away. Loved it! They are the sweetest couple and we’ve been lucky enough to continue to chat and follow their travels around the world as they experience newlywed life together. Such fun. Here are a few of their favorites…enjoy!
